What is Summer Bridge?
Summer Bridge is an 19-day residential, on campus, preparatory program for incoming freshmen students who have been accepted to Oklahoma State University and who plan to study a major in the College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology (CEAT). This program is designed to guide students as they transition from high school to the academic rigors of CEAT coursework through academic review, mock exams, orientation seminars and engineering design projects. Preparing students for calculus is a focus. Summer Bridge can potentially help students shorten time to graduation by a semester or full year depending on their level of math readiness at the start of the program. In addition, the students will build relationships with peers, faculty and staff, and start the process of building strong study habits with the assistance of CEAT upperclassmen as mentors. Students will live on campus and experience this transition from high school to college.
When is Summer Bridge?
The Summer Bridge Program begins 4 weeks prior to the start of the Fall semester and ends the week before the first day of class to allow participants time to finish preparing for the semester and attend Welcome Week activities.

What are you looking for in a Summer Bridge participant?

Students from underrepresented groups, as well as first-generation college students are encouraged to apply; however, all applicants will be considered regardless of background.
